Vivek Oberoi Opens Up About Casual Relationships: A Glimpse Into His Past Before Marriage

Vivek Oberoi, a prominent figure in Bollywood, has always been candid about his personal life, and in a recent interview with India TV, the actor reflected on his romantic experiences before tying the knot with Priyanka Alva. Oberoi revealed that he consciously avoided serious relationships during his younger years to shield himself from heartbreak. According to Vivek, casual relationships worked best for him, and he steered clear of emotional commitments, especially after losing his childhood sweetheart to cancer.

Vivek shared, “I’ve had very few serious girlfriends. I was very clear when I was in college. I was studying, had already started a business, and was investing in the stock market. I didn’t have time for a committed relationship.” The actor emphasized that his past experiences made him wary of getting emotionally involved, particularly after enduring the tragic loss of someone he deeply loved. This heart-wrenching experience shaped his approach toward relationships during his formative years.

“I didn’t want to go through more heartbreak, and I decided that only casual relationships work for me,” Vivek further added. He admitted that while these relationships may not have been serious, he always remained honest and never cheated on any partner, maintaining transparency and truthfulness in every relationship.

Born into a family deeply rooted in the film industry, Vivek Oberoi is the son of veteran actor Suresh Oberoi and Yashodhara. His original name, Vivekanand, was inspired by the revered spiritual leader Swami Vivekanand. Vivek’s personal life took a significant turn when he married Priyanka Alva, daughter of Karnataka minister Jeevaraj Alva, on October 29, 2010. The couple is blessed with two children—son Vivaan and daughter Ameyaa.
